Traumatised people can be helped back to a place of safety and well-being
by working with Margaret.

Counselling for Trauma

A trauma is an experience or situation that is emotionally painful and distressing, and which overwhelms a person’s ability to cope.  It can also include physical and psychological aspects.  Generally, the person is powerless over the trauma itself and its immediate consequences.

Traumatic events do upset the victim’s fundamental assumptions about the safety of the world.  In my work with traumatised people, I have found that these assumptions can cause them to become withdrawn, isolated and disconnected and can lead to serious depression.  By helping each person to slowly process the trauma, I strive to eventually bring them back to a place of safety and emotional well-being.  In this way they can reconnect with the world again and live their life to fullest.

Trauma happens to us without our choice – let me help you to take back your power.

Testimonials

‘Margaret helped me to open my eyes. Helped me to slow down my brain to a speed where I could interact with it. Helped me to see my true worth within myself. Helped me to lay the foundations of a new road for my life to take, this time empowered and directed by me – thank you’.
