I would encourage you to leave before you become totally destabalised. They do not change. They will be surrounded by their flying monkeys and harems so you will have little or no support.

I am not sure they have quite taken over the world but there are many who seek power and control that's for sure.
This has been the position for hundreds of years. The church controlled society and the state to the detriment of many. All for their own personal feed and greed with no conscience -- at the expense of the quality of life and sometimes life and mental health of the ordinary person.

Narcissists feed on power and control so bringing down your mood provides this fuel for them. They also have chronic low self esteem so if they keep you down then they feel less threatened.
One of their main objectives is to destabilise you. This way they get to keep control, instil fear and get a feed. They can achieve this in many ways.
