Its Absolutely not the correct approach. It will make her feel different and she's at risk of either self isolating due to shaming or becoming further disruptive to get attention to fit in. Either way her self esteem could deteriorate rapidly. That approach in my view is a very uneducated approach to your child's neurodifference.

Unfortunately many psychiatrists are not neuro psychiatrists. In my experience many non neurological psychiatrists do not acknowledge ADHD and that it is something to be treated. Its very frustrating because it leaves very few available to diagnose.

Yes the narcissistic parent absolutely can make their child codependent on them. They groom them by making them the golden child or they can go the other way and make them feel inadequate and dependent on them, either way the child ends up needing the narcissistic parent's continuous approval in order to feel adequate as a person.
